Vancouver Riot 2011 Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the purpose of the Riot 2011 website?
To help identify people suspected of taking part in the riot on June 15, 2011, and to bring them to justice.
Additional photos and videos will be posted as the investigation continues and as evidence warrants.
Can I post the photos and videos on this website to my own website / blog / social media (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Flickr, etc.) account?
The photos on this site have been watermarked and are considered copyrighted VPD material. This website has been set up to identitfy criminals involved in the June 15th riot. It would greatly assist investigators if you directed your friends, coworkers and classmates to this site rather than reposting these images.
How much material (photos, videos) was submitted by the public?
Thousands of individual photos and 5,000 hours of video have been submitted to members of IRIT.
What about the photos of rioters on other websites and social media?
Many other websites and social media outlets have carried photos and videos of rioters. IRIT is aware of these sites and has already gathered much of this information as evidence. If you have original photos or video that you have not yet submitted to the IRIT, see Submit Photos / Videos.
