The Vancouver Park Board is developing a park renewal plan for Brewers Park to refurbish a well-used park and address the needs of a growing neighbourhood. The plan will review the usage and condition of existing park features, and identify priorities for park improvements.
Following the approval of the Joyce-Collingwood Station Precinct Plan, staff are exploring the potential for additional multi-family and rental housing, as well as public realm enhancements to improve walking and biking along Joyce Street (Euclid Ave to Kingsway).

The Arbutus Greenway is a future, north-south transportation corridor that will connect people, parks and communities, from False Creek to the Fraser River.
In 2015, Council chose to move forward with a plan to replace the viaducts with a new street network that will better serve the future area. It will allow us to connect Downtown, Yaletown, Crosstown, Citygate, Chinatown, Gastown, and Main Street, and draw the neighbourhoods to an extensive and inviting waterfront. Already a hub of events, culture, and sports, Northeast False Creek is the last major undeveloped area in downtown Vancouver.

The Grandview-Woodland Community Plan was approved in July 2016. To implement the plan, zoning changes are being proposed to allow for new housing choices including duplexes, townhouses, and some 4-storey apartments in specified locations.

The Vancouver Park Board and the City of Vancouver Engineering Services are upgrading China Creek North Park. Upgrades include: a playground replacement, staircase or accessible path connection on the west hill, washrooms and pump station replacement in southeast corner of park.

A top priority of Transportation 2040 is to upgrade the 10th Avenue Corridor to be more safe, convenient, comfortable, and fun for people of all ages and abilities to walk and cycle. At this phase of the process, the public is invited to review and comment on designs for three sections: the Health Precinct, Quebec St to Guelph St, and Victoria Dr to Commercial Dr.

The Downtown Eastside Plan provided direction to create design guidelines for Hastings Street and for the Kiwassa neighbourhood. The vision is to enhance Hastings Street as a “great street” with focused efforts on building vibrant hubs along different sections to meet the needs of the community.
The City of Vancouver consults with the public on its budget approaches and draft budget. This year, the team visited communities, ran an online survey, and hosted several open houses and conversations to learn more about public priorities for our rapidly changing city. The budget will go to City Council on December 7.
Douglas Park playground is being renewed. Public feedback is being used to shape the design of the new design. The concept for the design is being refined with construction planned for September 2017.
