As a City of Reconciliation, we are engaging communities throughout 2017 under the umbrella title "Strengthening Our Relations."

To mark Canada 150+, we'll celebrate, learn, and connect through an array of cultural activities, the large-scale events and activities, including:

  • A Gathering of Canoes in a Vancouver park in July 2017
  • A 10-day festival in downtown Vancouver in July 2017
  • A Walk for Reconciliation in September 2017

More events to be announced

Vancouverites will have opportunities to engage in vibrant, interactive programming of traditional and contemporary Indigenous performance, arts and crafts, culture, fashion, feasts, music, and multi-media.

Together, we will reflect on our shared history and inspire all Canadians to re-imagine Canada's next 150 years.

Strengthening our Relations: Canada 150+ will reflect the living cultures of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh First Nations, Urban Aboriginal, and Métis communities, settlers, and newcomers.

Stay tuned!

More information will be announced this December.
